Public Health Wales (PHW) are working with the SCL Agency to carry out a research project into young people's experiences of seeking and/or accessing support for their mental health in Wales over the past five years. PHW would like to hear from young people aged between 18 and 25 who are ready to share their experiences of looking for help with their mental health in Wales. They are very keen to hear from a wide variety of young people, with a wide variety of experiences of seeking help e.g. through school/college, through a family doctor, through a charity or through a private counsellor. Whether the experience led to accessing support or not, PHW wants to hear what it’s like to look for help with your mental health as a young person in Wales at the moment. SCL will conduct interviews with young people who express an interest in taking part (and pass the safeguarding criteria), and each young person who contributes will receive a £20 voucher as a thank you. The interviews will take place until mid-December 2023.

Young people can find out more about the research and register their interest in taking part on this website: Home | Mental Health Wales (feedback-mental-health-wales.co.uk)

Could you please share information about this project with any young people in your networks? Promotional materials have been attached to this email. If you would like to hear more about the research, please contact Lois Griffiths from PHW on Lois.Griffiths@wales.nhs.uk
