International School Meals Day takes place on Thursday, 9 March and aims to raise awareness of good nutrition for all children regardless of their circumstances.

This year, the focus is on ‘Our changing food’ – looking at changes in methods (e.g. producing or cooking food), menus (e.g. from different countries or how menus are created) and examples of how specific meals have changed over time.

International School Meals Day is supported by the Welsh Government and Children in Wales and we’re encouraging schools across Wales to get involved with the day and celebrate school meals.

We will be developing a toolkit of resources with social media assets, templates and question sheets to help you plan activities either in the school classroom or in the kitchen to encourage children to think about their favourite meals and how they’re produced.
