Sarah Quibell, Service Manager for Education Support Services, Powys County Council: Developing a Child Poverty Action Plan

Powys County Council have established a Child Poverty Task Force ‘to work across all the public services to alleviate the growing crisis of child poverty in our communities.’  The cross organisational Task Force has worked together, within existing resources, to develop a Child Poverty Task Force Action Plan to support children, young people and their families across Powys.
 

 Adele Evans, Community Focused Schools Manager, Powys County Council & Judith Hickey, Headteacher, Ysgol Golwg y Cwm:  Community Focused School – Working with co-located Services and Partners

Community Focused Schools are a key feature of the Powys Child Poverty Task Force Action Plan.  Ysgol Golwg y Cwm featured in the Estyn Report Community Schools: Families and Communities at the Heart of School Life (Estyn 2020).
 

Yasmin Bell, Chief Officer, Powys Citizens Advice & Anwen Peters, Powys County Council: Money and Advice Services – ‘No Wrong Door’ 

Cross organisational working is a core element of the Powys Child Poverty Task Force.  The Practice Session will explore how the Powys County Council Income and Awards Team and Powys Citizens Advice are developing a combined approach to service delivery that will benefit families in Powys
