Four times a year, Young Wales organises a residential weekend where our volunteers can get together to learn new skills, take part in activities and join some of the boards and groups we support. During these residentials, we also deliver consultations for Welsh Government on issues that affect children and young people, ensuring our young volunteers’ views and opinions are considered for upcoming Welsh Government legislation and policy.

Our latest residential was based in Abernant Manor Adventure, occurring throughout Thursday 15th to Saturday 17th February 2024. The theme for this session was to celebrate all our Young Wales Volunteers’ achievements over the past year.

With a jam-packed itinerary, the Young Wales team arranged a variety of fun activities and interactive workshops for our young volunteers to get involved with.

Whilst there were exciting activities such as scavenger hunts, zip wires, film nights and abseiling, the event also allowed many of the Young Wales volunteers boards and groups to gather together and reflect on the work they had achieved throughout 2023. It also provided them with an opportunity to consider the important issues and projects they wanted to review throughout 2024.
