The Welsh Government has published their Draft Budget for 2020/21, and despite the uncertainty of its approval after the recent general election, the draft includes promising steps towards solutions for poverty, and the effects it may have on the education of Welsh children. Amongst the policies included in the Draft Budget are:

  • An increase of £48million in social housing grant funding
  • A further£14million in funding for further education colleges
  • A provisional extra £2.8million in school holiday hunger provisions
