Identifying areas most in need - Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation

For this webinar Children in Wales worked alongside representatives from the Welsh Government's Knowledge and Analytical Services to explore the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation (WIMD) 2019.

The session provided an introduction into what WIMD is, what it measures and how it can be used to draw insights into deprivation and inequalities in Wales.  Welsh Government also provided information about its wealth of indicators, covering topics from income to health and education, and focussed on highlighting information that relates to poverty, children and young people.  Plenty of data, maps, tools and guidance were also shared.

Speakers:

Nia Jones, Head of Social Justice Statistics, Welsh Government

Samantha Collins, Higher Statistical Officer, Welsh Government
