Diversity and inclusion are central to today’s society and it’s important to consider how the professionals and organisations working with babies, children and young people in Wales are putting clear values into practice.

In this edition we are delighted to feature a contribution from Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice, Jane Hutt and would like to warmly thank her for taking the time to share her insights with us. Also, to our long-standing and brand new members who are working hard to put inclusive values into practice - whether through anti-racist youth work, ensuring equity in access to free school meals, supporting autistic learners or embedding equality and diversity in early years settings. These contributions demonstrate that while there is still much to do, there is also a strong and growing commitment to change.

This issue also features a key article from Children in Wales, entitled “Working together to create an equitable future.” Equality, diversity and inclusion are the foundations of our values at Children in Wales and to ensure that we are living up to these values, and as part of our five-year Strategy, we have teamed up with Diverse Cymru, who have taken us on board within their Cultural Competency Scheme. Read the full article in the magazine to see how we're working collaboratively to put the scheme into action and making a real difference for the children and young people we work with.

Children in Wales would like to thank all contributors for taking the time to write their articles and for their dedication in this area.
