Autism in Maturity

This one-day course offers a rich and authentic learning experience, developed and delivered by a trainer with both professional expertise and lived experience of autism through supporting a sibling with autism and learning disabilities. Her personal insights bring depth and empathy to the training, helping participants connect theory with real-life practice. Participants will: - Gain a deeper understanding of the autism spectrum and its varied presentations - Explore the importance of communication, preparation, and reducing anxiety - Learn how to create autism-friendly environments - Understand how autism affects individuals as they grow older - Strengthen their ability to work holistically with families and carers - Engage with real-life scenarios to apply learning in practical contexts The training is delivered in two parts: Part 1 focuses on foundational knowledge, communication, sensory responses, and anxiety. Part 2 builds on this by exploring ageing, transitions, health access, and the role of families and carers.
