Our Spring 2026 issue shines a spotlight on Article 12 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), which affirms every child’s right to express their views freely in all matters affecting them and to have those views respected in line with their age and maturity.

Launched to coincide with our Annual Conference on 25 March 2026, this special edition brings together powerful and uplifting examples from our members. It highlights how babies, children and young people are actively influencing the world around them, and showcases how professionals across health, education, social care, childcare, youth work and the third sector are embedding children’s voices into everyday practice.

At Children in Wales, we know that meaningful, lasting change happens when young people’s voices are not only heard, but genuinely listened to and acted upon. For more than 30 years, our work has been guided by a simple but vital belief: that the UNCRC should be a lived reality for every child in Wales, and that participation must be at the heart of everything we do.

This magazine is both a celebration and a resource - a space for our members to share their experiences, reflect on their journeys, and highlight the impact of placing youth voice at the centre of their work. The stories within are inspiring, thought-provoking and a testament to what can be achieved when children’s rights are truly respected.

Thank you to everyone who contributed - we’re proud to share your work and the difference you’re making to children’s rights in Wales.
