Keeping in touch with your family

If you are a child or young person in care, you have a right to say what you want to happen when decisions are being made about how often you see your birth family. This could include seeing or talking to your birth parents, brothers and sisters, aunties and uncles, cousins – anybody who is important to you in your life.

This guide will help you to think about who matters to you and how often you want to see them. It will give you information about the law, your rights and what to do if you are unhappy with any decisions that are made. We know this is a really important issue for lots of children and young people across Wales.
