Regional Investment in Wales after Brexit – March 2018
17.05.18
This is Children in Wales’ response to the Welsh Government consultation on a new approach to regional economic development and investment in Wales.
Children in Wales echoed the Welsh Governments demand of the UK Government to make good the promises made during the Referendum campaign that Wales would not be financially worse off when we leave the EU. After December 2020, we must receive at least the existing levels of funding presently allocated via the EU Structural and Investment Funds with no constraints, and must continue to engage in cooperation programmes, such as Erasmus +.
This was informed by our work looking at Brexit and childrne’s rights, and our engagments as active members of Eurochild in influencing planning towards EU budget cycles.
