Children in Wales has issued a response to the Welsh Government consultation on a new framework for adoption services. The response focused on the work of IRM Cymru. Children in Wales said that the current number of applications to IRM Cymru do not justify the process. It is also difficult to recruit and retain people with the skills to be members of the review panel. We suggested that another regional adoption panel or ADM could review in the same way as the IRM panel does now and feed its comment back to the agency decision maker for the final decision.
