Securing Wales’ Future: Transition from the European Union to a new relationship with Europe, 30/01/2017 [W]
09.02.17
The Auditor General for Wales has published a report examining the effectiveness of local authorities’ arrangements for funding third sector services.
In recent years, local authorities have reduced their role in providing services directly, and instead are using outside organised for provision, in particular the third sector such as community groups, charities and social enterprises.
The report says that local authorities are not always making the best use of the third sector nor doing enough to ensure they are securing value for money.
