Guidance for sharing information in order to safeguard children, 11/07/2019 [W]

The Welsh Government has published an information resource to help practitioners know when and how they should share information properly to safeguard children and adults.

Producing a written guide and a infographic poster, the guidance details when and how to share, and other things to consider, like getting consent, seeking advice and keeping records of the decisions made to share information.

The main thing to know is that data protection rules are not there to hamper justified information sharing in order to safeguard. They exist to provide a framework to make sure that when information needs to be shared, it can be done so appropriately.

You can find the poster and the guidance on the Welsh Government’s website.
