Flying Start Annual Report April 2018 to March 2019, 07/08/2019 [W]

The Welsh Government has published the Flying Start Annual Report for the year 2018 to 2019.

The report supplies a statistical overview of the service’s work from April 2018 to March 2019.

Key statistics note that 36,367 benefited from the service during 18/19, which was lower than the year before, but still higher than expected.

More offers of childcare at Flying Start settings were taken up this year compared with the year before, and there was a slight increase in the number of children living in Flying Start areas who were fully immunised by their fourth birthday.

Children up to the age of four were seen slightly less than the year before by health visitors or the wider health team, and while there was an increase in the numbers of babies at 10 days old breastfeeding across Wales, the number was lower in Flying Start areas than in non-Flying Start areas.

For the full statistics, you can find the report on the Welsh Government website.
