Counselling for children and young people, 18/02/16 [W]

This report from the Welsh Government provides information on the provision of independent counselling services for children and young people aged between 11 and 18.

During 2014/15 11,567 children or young people received counselling services in Wales. The most common form of referral was from school-based staff, which accounted for 46% of referrals. Of the total number of children and young people who received counselling females were the highest, accounting for 64%. Young people in the Year 10 year group were the highest number receiving counselling, accounting for 22%.
