Consultation on Exemptions to the Video Recordings Act and on Advertising in Cinemas, 09/05/12 [W/E/NI/S]

The Department for Culture, Media and Sport is consultating on proposed changes to exemptions from film classification, and whether to remove any requirement for the British Board of Film Classification to have a role in age rating advertisements shown in cinemas.

The proposals aim to reduce the burden on the entertainment industry, while still protecting consumers, in particular children and young people, from inappropriate advertising content.
