Code of practice on the delivery of services for people with autism, 30/11/2018 [W]

The Welsh Government has published a consultation on the delivery of support services for people with autism.

It is the government’s hope that their new code of practice will make it easier for people with autism to gain access to the services that they need.

“Autistic people often do not fit neatly into services. It is essential that staff have the right level of knowledge and skills to provide the best support they can,” Vaughan Gething AM, writes in the Ministerial Foreword to the consultation.

The Code of Practice sets out arrangements for assessment and diagnosis, accessing care and support, awareness raising and training planning, monitoring and stakeholder involvement.

The consultation will remain open to responses until the 30 March 2018.

You can respond to the consultation on the Welsh Government’s website, as well as find a copy of the consultation document.
