Chief Medical Officer for Wales Annual Report 2012-13: Healthier, Happier, Fairer, 09/10/13 [W]

10.10.13

In this report, the Chief Medical Officer for Wales gives details of the current state of the nation’s health, and reccomends ways that public health could be improved.

The report finds that people are living longer in Wales but that health inequalities remain. Obesity is highlighted as a problem, with levels having trebled over the last 30 years; and a lack of physical exercise for people of all ages is shown to be affecting their physical and mental health.

The report reccomends that the Government should tackle poverty and look at ways of getting people more active, to improve health.
