Autism (Wales) Bill Summary from the National Assembly for Wales Research Service, 11/01/2019 [W]

The National Assembly for Wales Research Service has published a summary to the Autism (Wales) Bill.

It summarises the main elements of the Bill and the response to it through its scrutiny stages.

The Bill was originally introduced to the Assembly’s Health, Social Care and Sport Committee on the 13 July 2018, and the committee has since produced its response.

The main purpose of the Bill is to ensure the needs of children and adults in Wales with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are met. It requires Welsh Ministers to publish an Autism Strategy and issue guidance to relevant bodies.

You can read more about the Bill in the full summary paper, which can be found at the National Assembly for Wales website here.
