Additional Learning Needs Code, 10/12/2018 [W]

The Welsh Government has published a draft Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Code that they would like to receive people’s views on.

The Additional Learning Needs and Education Tribunal (Wales) Act 2018, which received royal assent in January 2018, requires Welsh ministers to produce a code an ALN Code.

The Code should provide guidance and set out the duties of specific people in the process of planning the support required to enable young people with additional needs to achieve their full potential.

The consultation also provides draft regulations, a draft Code of Practice (Looked After and Accommodated Children) for the Social Services and Well-Being (Wales) Act 2014, and revised integrated impact assessments. The Welsh Government is looking for views on these documents too.

The deadline of the consultation is the 22 March 2018.

There is more information available on the Welsh Government’s website here.
