New research from Become and Voices from Care Cymru shows that 75% of teachers who qualified after 2010 in England and Wales were not trained in supporting children in care.

Become and Voices from Care Cymru surveyed 447 teachers in England and Wales in the new research, on their experiences with children in care.

Many teachers said that they had received no training about looked after children before they qualified, just over a quarter said they received no training before or after qualifying and most had heard at least one colleague say something negative and general about children in care.
