Jobs Growth Wales helping young people into work, 11/12/13 [W]

The youth employment programme, Jobs Growth Wales, is having good results in getting young people into work, the latest figures show.

The programme is funded by the European Social Fund and has created 9,345 jobs, with 7,748 young people taking up these opportunities. It commenced in April 2012, and aims to get young people who are ready to work but having trouble finding employment intensive support and 6-month job opportunities to help them.

The most recent statistics show that 96% of graduates who have completed the programme found work afterwards, and that those who undertake a 6-month opportunity often find sustained employment through the experience.

You can find out more about the programme on theWelsh Government website.
