Charities urge Welsh Government to welcome Syrian refugees, 03/03/14 [W]

Children in Wales has joined the Welsh Refugee Council and other charities in signing a letter to the First Minister, urging the Welsh Government to help resettle some of the most vulnerable Syrian refugees in Wales.

This follows agreement by the UK Government to allow some Syrians to come to the UK. This includes the most vulnerable people who are survivors of torture, people with disabilities or medical needs, unaccompanied children, older people and women at risk of sexual violence who need to access safety, protection and medical care.

The letter urges the Welsh Government to welcome the refugees and offer them support as the crisis in their country continues.
