The impact of COVID 19 has been far reaching and profound for many families and their children in Wales.  BAME families and communities have been disproportionately affected and the impact of the disease, lockdown, school closures and isolation have taken their toll, highlighting many existing issues, as well as creating new ones.

This knowledge exchange event will increase your understanding of the impact of  COVID 19 on BAME children and families, identify the immediate and future needs of this community and help to influence policy and practice.

Our speakers:

Fateha Ahmed, EYST

Through her engagement work with children and young people throughout the crisis, Fateha has a bank of evidence to draw on and share, giving greater insight into the impact.

Trudy Aspinall, TGP Cymru, Member of the socioeconomic subgroup of the First Minister’s BAME COVID 19 Advisory Group

Trudy will share the key findings of the subgroup report which identifies a number of key factors in the disproportionate COVID outcomes for BAME communities and will share some of the key recommendations made in the report.
