Children in Wales has developed a training programme in the delivery of various parenting programmes for professionals in Wales. We are currently able to offer:
Over the past ten years, all UK social and care agencies have become increasingly aware of a huge need in our society. It begins with a lack of father's involvement in post and antenatal care; absentee fathers; the low esteem and low academic achievement levels of boys; the antisocial and damaging behaviour of teenagers; and the lack of good male role models. These are complex and difficult issues, each family is different and each case needs care and attention. However, we know that these issues need to be addressed as a matter of urgency, and that solutions and ways of working with fathers need to be found. We offer this course as a start in that process, we have devised it as experienced fathers and workers in the social care fields. The course will encourage debate and will focus attention on the ways of engaging fathers, which are of direct benefit to their children, to their partners, and to society as a whole.
