Children and Young People Committee, 23/10/08 [W]

In its meeting of 23 October 2008, the Children and Young People Committee took evidence as part of its inquiry into the Parenting Action Plan.

Giving evidence to the committee was Gail Bennett, Parenting Strategy Coordinator, Flintshire County Council.

Points raised in discussion included:

  • the Parenting Action Plan is logical, but people’s awareness of it is quite limited
  • the cost of delivering a parenting programme can range from £5,000 to £17,000
  • delivery of parenting programmes has been difficult due to resourcing issues

For full details, please read the Committee transcript.
