New appointments to the National Independent Advocacy Board, 19/06/09 [W]

The Minister for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills, Jane Hutt, has announced eight appointments to the new National Independent Advocacy Board.

The National Independent Advocacy Board will take responsibility for monitoring, advising and reporting on advocacy arrangements for children and young people. The appointments will run for three years until June 2012.

The Board consists of non executive members, including children and young people, who have the opportunity to make recommendations to Welsh Ministers on a range of matters relating to advocacy. The Chair of the Board is still to be recruited.

Details of the appointments are available on the Welsh Assembly Government website.
