Learner Travel (Wales) Measure Passed by National Assembly for Wales, 30/9/08 [W]

The National Assembly for Wales passed the Learner Travel (Wales) Measure during the Plenary Session of 30 September 2008. The Measure is intended to strengthen protocols for good behaviour and proper discipline on school buses and provide free transport for more primary school children. It is now before the Privy Council waiting for approval.

The Welsh Assembly Government have indicated that regulations will be published for consultation soon, with the intention of to bring them into force in the spring of next year.  Pupils using school transport would then benefit from the increased set of entitlements from next September.

More information is available in the National Assembly for Wales Record of Proceedings.
