The Welsh Assembly Government’s One Wales budget for the next two years was set out by Minister for Finance and Public Service Delivery, Andrew Davies on Tuesday 7 October 2008. The budget includes:

  • An additional £60m over two years to fund the full roll out of the Foundation Phase
  • An additional £1.5m will also be provided to support the reconfiguration of Initial Teacher Training
  • One-off funding of £63m next year to ensure that no patients have to wait longer than 26 weeks from referral to treatment

More information is available in the Minister’s press release, and the draft budget can be downloaded from the Welsh Assembly Government’s website.
