Assembly votes in favour of Vulnerable Children and Child Poverty LCO, 15/07/08 [W]

The National Assembly for Wales has voted in favour of the final draft of the Vulnerable Children and Child Poverty Legislative Competence Order.

The Order will now go on to be debated in both Houses of Parliament.

The purpose of the Order is to extend the legislative competence of the National Assembly for Wales to make new laws for Wales by Measure in relation to vulnerable children and child poverty.

The Assembly Government is already consulting on priority actions for child poverty and to strengthen support for vulnerable families to be included in a future Assembly Measure.

Further information is available on the Welsh Assembly Government website.
