School-based Counselling Services in Wales a National Strategy, 02/04/08 [W]

The Welsh Assembly Government has published a strategy for developing school-based counselling services across Wales, supported by funding of £6.5m over the next 3 years.

Funding of £1m will be made available in 2008/09, £2.5m in 2009/10 and £3m in 2010/11 for Local Authorities to develop school-based counselling services

The strategy has been produced in response to a recommendation contained within the Children’s Commissioner for Wales’ Clywch Inquiry Report and to implement one of the key actions (2.35) set out in the National Service Framework for Children, Young People and Maternity Services in Wales.

The document can be downloaded from the Welsh Assembly Government’s website.
