Behaving and Attending, 30/03/09 [W]

The Welsh Assembly Government has launched a new action plan to promote positive behaviour and attendance in Wales.

The plan is the response to the National Behaviour and Attendance Review (NBAR) which was published in May 2008 by Professor Ken Reid and his independent Review Group.

The plan recognises that there are a number of actions which need to be implemented to improve behaviour and attendance - from raising levels of literacy among young people, to better training for teaching professionals. The plan also emphasises the important role that parents have to play in working with schools, local authorities and the local communities to improving how young people behave in Wales.

Further information is available on the Welsh Assembly Government website.
