Education Maintenance Allowances Awarded in Wales – Update at End of July 2010, 11/08/10 [W]

The latest statistics on Education Maintenance Allowances (EMAs) produced by the Student Loans Company (SLC), were released on 11 August 2010 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

The key points from the latest release are:

As at 31 July 2010, a total of 38,490 EMA Wales applications had been received for the academic year 2009/10.
36,160 applications (94 per cent) had been approved; 940 (2 per cent) had been rejected; 880 applications (2 per cent) were incomplete.
