Absenteeism from Primary Schools, 2008/09 , 21/01/10 [W]

Statistics outlining absenteeism from primary schools in Wales were published by the Welsh Assembly Government on 21 January 2010. They show a total of 6.8% of half day sessions were missed by pupils in Wales either through authorised or unauthorised absence.  This figure is higher than the equivalent figure for England but the gap between is continuing to narrow.

The statistics can be downloaded from the Welsh Assembly Government’s website.
