Further Education, Work-based Learning and Community Learning in Wales Statistics 2007/08, 16/12/09, [W]

The latest National Statistics on post-16 education and training produced by the Welsh Assembly Government.

Key points from the volume include:

  • 217,550 learners were enrolled at FE institutions during 2007/08.
  • There was a 1.6 per cent decrease in FE learner numbers in total at Further and Higher Education institutions between December 2002 and December 2007.
  • 44,660 learners pursued a Local Authority Community Learning activity in 2007/08 (including those enrolled at FEIs but taught by local authority staff).
  • 58,600 learners undertook work-based learning programmes at FEIs and other training providers in 2007/08.
  • 68 per cent of learners leaving their most recent work-based learning programme in 2007/08 went into current or new employment.
