Regional Trends 41: Children and Young People Around the UK, 24/06/09 [W/E/NI/S]

Children and young people are the subject of this year's lead article in Regional Trends.

Regional Trends is an annual report painting a statistical picture of areas within the UK, to assist in understanding the complex relationships between locations and the people who live there. The articles are likely to be of interest to policy makers in central and local government, academics and students, the media and the general public.

The article looks at the differences between regions, local communities and urban and rural localities in key topics such as children's family types, household income deprivation, and children's health, education and sentencing for crime.

Further information is available on the National Statistics website.
