The latest statistics on fostering and adoption intermediary services.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • 73 new supervised private fostering arrangements began during the year, compared to 60 in the previous year.
  • At 1 October 2008, there were 101 registered providers of fostering services operating in Wales and these services provided a total of 2,885 settings for foster care.
  • In 2007-08, local authorities dealt with 293 requests for adoption intermediary services from people adopted before 30 November 1975, and there were 366 cases open at 31 March 2008.
