Exclusions from Schools in Wales, 2006/07, 30/9/08 [W]

This Statistical First Release presents data on school exclusions collected from Local Education Authorities (LEAs) for the past ten academic years, 1997/98 to 2006/07.

The key results for 2006/07 are:

  • The number of permanent exclusions has fallen by a third to 291.
  • Boys accounted for three quarters of permanent exclusions.
  • The number of fixed term exclusions has fallen slightly to just over 20,000.
