This is the Welsh Assembly Government’s progress report on implementing the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. The report focuses on progress made since the UN last considered the UK’s progress on implementing the Convention in 2002. This is the first time that Wales has produced its own progress report on the Convention.
The report is structured according to the guidelines set out by the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child and considers:
• General measures of implementation• General principles• Civil rights and freedoms• Family environment and alternative care• Basic health and welfare• Education, leisure and cultural activities• Special protection measures.
