This guide is intended to provide a brief introduction to Option 2 for practitioners and managers interested in developing this way of working.
"Option 2" is an intensive family preservation service based in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. It is an adapted version of an American model (called "Homebuilders"). Option 2 was identified by the Welsh Assembly Government as a promising method of working with families affected by serious issues relating to parental use of drugs or alcohol.
