Reports on the Proposed Education (Wales) Measure published, 25/06/09 [W]

Reports by the National Assembly for Wales’ Finance Committee and Subordinate Legislation Committee on the Proposed Education (Wales) Measure have been published.

The Finance Committee’s report looks at the financial implications of the proposed Measure and concludes that there are no objections on financial grounds to the proposed Measure proceeding for the purpose it is currently intended.

The Subordinate Legislation Committee’s report looks at the appropriateness of the subordinate legislation provisions in the proposed Measure and puts forward a number of recommendations.

The proposed Measure will provide rights for children and young people to make special educational needs (SEN) appeals and claims of disability discrimination to the SEN Tribunal for Wales.
