Proposed Children and Families (Wales) Measure – Stage 1 Committee Report, 19/06/09 [W]

The National Assembly for Wales’ Legislation Committee No. 2 has published its Stage 1 Committee report on the Proposed Children and Families (Wales) Measure.

The purpose of the proposed Measure is to create, for the first time, a coherent legislative framework on child poverty across all public agencies in Wales.

Based on evidence from stakeholders, the Committee agrees that that there is a need for this legislation. It recommends that guidance be developed to accompany the implementation of the proposed Measure.

The report is available to download from the National Assembly for Wales website.

Members of Children in Wales are able to download a briefing on the proposed Measure from the Members' Section of the website.
