Mental capacity and wellbeing: making the most of ourselves in the 21st century, 22/10/08 [W/E/NI/S]

This project by the think tank Foresight looked at how a person’s mental resources change throughout life and identifies factors that can help or hinder their development.

The final report demonstrates that there is a clear case for action across society including by Government, companies and individuals to boost both mental capital and wellbeing. This could reap very high economic and social benefits in the future. Drawing on over 100 expert papers, the report identifies three key areas which need to be tackled.

These are learning in the early years, wellbeing at work, and the ageing population.

Further information on the project is available on Foresight’s website.
