As long as it takes: a new politics for children, 18/09/08 [W/E/NI/S]

Action for Children has published a report that examines 21 years of policy affecting vulnerable children and young people in the UK.

The report showed that during the lifetime of a 21 year old in Wales there have been 2 new pieces of Wales-only legislation and 24 that cover England and Wales, and 11 new funding streams. Since devolution there have been 24 new strategies that affect children, young people and families in Wales.

Action for Children is calling for a political system that puts the long-term needs of children first and short-term politics second.

The report can be downloaded from the Action for Children website.
