Science and mathematics education, 14-19, 05/09/08 [W/E/NI/S]

The Royal Society has published a report on the participation and attainment of 14-19 year olds in science and mathematics in the UK, 1996-2007.

The report finds that major educational reforms over the last 12 years have had little impact on increasing the number of students taking maths and science in post-compulsory education; and argues that educational reform must be based on the needs of education rather than short term political ends.

The report can be downloaded from the Royal Society website.
