Poverty and Deprivation in Rural Wales, 23/07/08 [W]

The Rural Development Sub-Committee of the National Assembly for Wales has published a report on its inquiry into poverty and deprivation in rural Wales.

The report challenges the Assembly Government to recognise and understand the different ways in which poverty impacts people’s lives in rural Wales. The Report demonstrates the different nature of poverty in rural communities and lists the issues.

The Sub-Committee’s work focused on poverty and deprivation issues for the following groups:

  • Children and young people
  • The economically active
  • The economically inactive
  • Older people.

Further information is available on the National Assembly for Wales website.
