The Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR) has published a new report setting out early findings from the UK’s experience of Child Trust Funds.
Drawing on official data, academic research and original research, the researchers found that parents are generally positive about the policy and a nearly a third of accounts opened by parents have received extra contributions.
The report also identifies some areas for improvement including the need to increase involvement among some parents and expand the number of Child Trust Funds receiving regular contributions from family and friends.
The report can be downloaded from the IPPR website.
