Written statement on the Equality Opportunity Committee’s report on Service Provision for Disabled Young People, 22/05/08 [W]

Jane Hutt, Minister for Children, has issued a written statement on The Welsh Assembly Government’s progress report on meeting the recommendations of the Equality Opportunity Committee’s report on Service Provision for Disabled Young People, which was published in January 2007.

‘Why is it that disabled young people are always left until last?’, the Equality of Opportunity Committee’s report, made 5 general recommendations, underpinning 40 more detailed recommendations, in the following areas:

  • Education
  • Training and employment
  • Leisure
  • Housing
  • Transport
  • Equipment
  • Transition to adulthood
  • Access to information, and
  • Poverty
