Jane Hutt, Minister for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills, has made an oral statement on the Welsh Assembly Government's early years initiative, the Foundation Phase.

The statement announces an additional £5 million this financial year for the the roll-out of the Foundation Phase.

The additional £5 million is on top of the £25 million grant secured in 2008/09 for the roll-out of the Foundation Phase from September and comes from the Minister's existing departmental budget.
